A standard circular stove costs about SEK 100.000 to install. During the heating season you get out 10 – 12,000 kWh at 4 m³ of firewood. If you use direct-acting electricity for heating, with an electricity price of 1.50 SEK/kW and access to free firewood, you save just over 15,000 SEK/year. This gives a return-on-investment period of 7 years. With wood purchased at about 600 SEK/m³, the repayment period will be 8 years.
